Privacy Policy
Effective July 22, 2026
SoloTake is made by Facedouble LLC (“SoloTake,” “we,” “us”). This policy explains what information the SoloTake app handles and why. We built SoloTake to keep as much as possible on your device — you don’t create an account, and we don’t sell your data.
The short version. No account or login. Your recordings — including your face — stay on your device and in your photo library; they’re never uploaded to our servers or sent to any AI provider. Recording, editing, and transcription all happen on your device. When you use AI features, only text — like your script — is sent to be processed. We don’t run advertising or third-party analytics, and we never sell your information.
1. Who this applies to
This policy covers the SoloTake mobile app and the solotake.app website. SoloTake is intended for people 13 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
2. Information we handle
Content you create
- Recordings. The video and audio you record — including your face — are stored on your device and saved to your photo library when you export. They are never uploaded to our servers or sent to any AI provider; all recording, editing, and compositing happens on your device.
- Scripts & transcripts. Text you type or dictate, and transcripts generated from your recordings.
- Media you add. Photos, videos, logos, or backgrounds you import from your device.
Device permissions
- Camera & microphone — to record your video.
- Photo library — to save finished videos and import media you choose.
- You can change these anytime in your device Settings. Denying a permission may limit related features.
Purchases
If you subscribe to SoloTake Premium, the purchase is processed by Apple and managed by our subscription provider, RevenueCat. We receive purchase and subscription status (e.g. whether Premium is active) but never your card number or full payment details.
Beta program text messages
If you join the SoloTake beta at solotake.app/beta, we ask for your mobile phone number so we can text you your install link, new-build updates, and occasional feedback check-ins (up to about 2 messages per week; frequency varies). Messages you send to our number — feedback, questions, replies — are forwarded to the SoloTake team so we can respond. We use your number only to run the beta program: we don’t sell it, share it with third parties for their marketing, or use it for anything unrelated to SoloTake. Text STOP at any time to stop receiving messages, or HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply. Beta phone numbers and message logs are stored with our infrastructure provider (Amazon Web Services) and deleted when the beta program ends or on request.
What we don’t collect
No accounts, no passwords, no advertising identifiers, and no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs. We don’t build advertising profiles about you.
3. On-device processing
SoloTake transcribes your speech directly on your device using an on-device speech model — your audio is never sent to a server to be transcribed. Trimming, adding backgrounds and captions, and rendering your final video are also done entirely on your device. Your recorded video never leaves it.
4. When information leaves your device
Some features work by sending the minimum necessary content to our servers and, in some cases, to the third-party providers below. This includes:
- AI script & caption features — your script or transcript text is sent to our server and to Google to clean it up, generate captions, or rewrite it.
- Creating a script from a video, web page or document — if you generate a script this way, the relevant text is sent to our server and to Google to draft it. A video you import is transcribed on your device; only the resulting text leaves it. A web link you provide is fetched by our server, and a document you choose (PDF, Word, PowerPoint or text) is uploaded to our server to extract its text. We don’t keep the source longer than needed to create the script.
- AI background generation — the text prompt you enter is sent to Google to generate an image.
- Brand tools — a logo image or website URL you provide is sent to our server to detect colors and style.
- Stock media search — when you search for stock photos or clips, your search terms are sent to our stock media providers to return matching results.
- Sharing to other apps (optional) — if you choose to post or share your video to another platform (for example, LinkedIn), your video and caption are sent to that service. This happens only when you initiate it.
- Feedback — if you send feedback, your message (and email address, if you provide one) is delivered to us through our email delivery provider.
Because you write your own scripts, you decide what they contain — we recommend not including sensitive personal information in text you run through AI features. We ask these providers to process content only to deliver the feature and not to use it to train their own models where that option is available. We don’t retain your scripts, transcripts, or uploaded media on our servers longer than needed to complete the request.
5. Third-party services
SoloTake relies on these providers, each governed by its own privacy policy: Apple (App Store & payments), RevenueCat (subscriptions), Google (AI processing), and stock media providers (search results). We also use a cloud hosting provider and an email delivery provider to operate the service. If you choose to share your video to another platform — for example, LinkedIn — it is sent to that service only when you initiate it, and its use of your content is governed by that platform’s own privacy policy.
6. How we use information
To provide and improve SoloTake’s features, process the actions you request, deliver your subscription, respond to your feedback, keep the service secure, and comply with the law. We do not sell your personal information.
7. Data retention & deletion
Content you create stays on your device until you delete it. Deleting the app removes local app data. Because there is no account, there is little for us to hold — content sent for processing is transient. To ask about any data associated with you, email us using the details below.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live (including the EU, UK, and California), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict use of your personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising them. Contact us to make a request.
9. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect information in transit and at rest. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.
10. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above, and your continued use of SoloTake means you accept the updated policy.
