Reporting a bug

The fastest way to get a problem fixed is from inside the app: tap the ? icon → Send feedback, choose Something’s broken, and leave Attach session details switched on.

That attachment tells me which clips recorded, how long each one is, and what the app actually did — the difference between a fix in a day and a week of back-and-forth. It contains no video, no audio, and none of your script text, and you can read exactly what it will send before you tap Send.

Common questions

How do I make my first video?

SoloTake starts with your words, not the camera. The short version:

• Put in a script. Type it, paste it, dictate it — or tap Write it for me and describe what you want to say.
• It splits into clips. Each paragraph becomes one short clip, so you never have to nail a long take in one go.
• Record, reading off the screen. Your script scrolls over the camera. Tap the panel, say next clip, or press a volume button to move on.
• It edits itself. SoloTake cuts the filler words, restarts, and dead air, then adds captions.
• Export. The finished video saves to your camera roll, ready to post.

You don’t have to record everything in one sitting — re-record any single clip without touching the rest.

I already have a video — can I start with that instead?

Yes. You don’t have to start with the teleprompter at all.

On the script screen, look for “Or start from…” and tap Video. Pick a clip from your library and SoloTake asks how you want to use it:

• As your on-camera footage — it gets cut into clips you can trim, caption, and clean up, the same as something you’d recorded in the app.
• As a background — it sits behind each clip and you record yourself over it.
• Just for the script — it transcribes the video on your device and pulls the words into a script, ignoring the footage.

Already have a project going? On the clips screen, tap Import video at any gap to drop a video’s clips in at that exact spot.

The same “Or start from…” row also takes a web link or a document if you’d rather build the script from something you’ve already written.

Where did my finished video go?

Exports are saved to your device’s photo library, in your camera roll. If nothing appeared, check that SoloTake has photo library access in Settings → SoloTake.

One of my clips came out empty

Open the clip and record it again — the clip keeps its script, so you only redo that one piece. Before you share, SoloTake tells you if any clips have no footage, so you don’t publish a video with pieces missing.

How do I move to the next clip while recording?

Tap the script panel, say next clip, or press a volume button. To go back one, say back clip or press volume down. Auto-advance can follow along as you read, and you can turn that off in Settings.

Does my video get uploaded anywhere?

No. Recording, transcription, editing, and rendering all happen on your device, and your footage never leaves it. AI features that need a server send text only — like your script. The full detail is in the privacy policy.

Why does my video have a watermark?

The SoloTake mark appears on exports from the free version. A subscription removes it and unlocks your own logo, tagline, brand colours, and fonts.

How do I manage or cancel a subscription?

Subscriptions are billed by Apple, so they’re managed in Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your device. Cancelling there stops future renewals; Apple handles any refund requests.
